If you have Celiac Disease you must follow a gluten-free diet. (Celiac Disease is also
known as Sprue, Non-tropical Sprue and Celiac Sprue).Gluten is the protein found in wheat,
barley, rye, oats, triticale and any derivatives of these grains. Many dieticians and
doctors believe that following a gluten free diet is a simple matter, but it is not. There
are thousands of foods that contain gluten and the labeling laws are inadequate for
determining whether gluten is present. This is because hundreds of food ingredients could
contain gluten without the gluten having to be declared on the packaging. This web site is
intended to help people who follow a gluten free diet to determine which brand name foods
do not contain gluten. We contacted food companies and asked them for a list of their
foods that did not contain gluten and we posted the brand names of all these foods on the
site.
